GPatelier designed a permaculture garden as a contribution to the initiative to transform EHBK building (cultural center in Amsterdam well known as OT301) into a self-sustainable unit. The concept of the project emphasizes the green area of the nearby Vondel Park, bringing it ideally on the roof and balconies and guiding it towards the entrance and the tree-lined street J.P. Heijestraat.

The plan involves typical patterns and materials of traditional landscape of farming fields with their specific functions and plant species. It maximizes useful connections between components and creates synergy among the elements. Flexible wooden units design and modulate the two areas creating two different environments.

A program of an experimental workshop of rooftop/wall gardens, permaculture, yardshare will be provided in order to connect the neighbors in a new community. The interaction with the existing building functions highlights an alternative city spot for future urban farming developments.
